AirDisk Pro connection troubleshooting

Use these checks when your browser cannot connect to AirDisk Pro or a wireless transfer stops working.

How to connect

Start here before checking firewall, browser, or network settings.

  1. 1Open AirDisk Pro and start the Wi-Fi Transfer feature.
  2. 2Note the IP address and port displayed in the app, such as http://192.168.1.100:8080.
  3. 3Enter that address in the web browser on your computer.

Common connection issues and solutions

Work through these in order. Most connection failures come from network separation, the wrong address, or local security software.

Device and computer are not on the same Wi-Fi

  • Make sure both your iPhone and computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • If you are using a mobile hotspot, some networks block local connections.

Tip: Try switching to a different Wi-Fi network or restarting your router.

Firewall or security software is blocking the connection

  • On Windows, allow connections on port 8080 in Windows Defender Firewall.
  • Create a new inbound rule for TCP on 8080 and allow the connection.
  • On macOS, open System Settings, then Network and Firewall, and allow incoming connections on port 8080 if needed.
  • Some routers or public networks block local connections. Check your router settings or switch to a personal Wi-Fi network.

Tip: Some antivirus or security software may block local connections. Temporarily disable it only if you understand the risk, then test again.

Incorrect IP address or port

  • Double-check that the browser address exactly matches AirDisk Pro.
  • Correct: http://192.168.1.100:8080.
  • Wrong: https://192.168.1.100:8080. AirDisk Pro uses HTTP for the local address.

Tip: Your IP address may change after reconnecting to Wi-Fi, so always check AirDisk Pro for the latest address.

Browser security warning or HTTPS issue

  • Some browsers may show a warning because AirDisk Pro runs on HTTP, not HTTPS.
  • Use the browser advanced option to proceed to the local address.
  • Use Google Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge for best compatibility.

Tip: Make sure you are opening the exact local address shown in AirDisk Pro.

VPN, proxy, or company network restrictions

  • If you are using a VPN or proxy, turn it off and try again.
  • Some corporate or school networks block local connections. Try a personal Wi-Fi network or hotspot.

Tip: If AirDisk Pro works on another Wi-Fi network, your current network may be restricted.

AirDisk Pro is not running

  • Keep AirDisk Pro open and running while transferring files.
  • Some devices may stop the connection when the app is in the background.

Tip: If you experience frequent disconnections, restart AirDisk Pro and start Wi-Fi Transfer again.

Still cannot connect?

Restart AirDisk Pro, refresh the browser, confirm both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network, and copy the latest address from the app before trying again.
